Our Framework

Four Pillars.
One Mission.

Mahashakti Foundation is committed to fostering sustainable development across four deeply interconnected thematic areas. In the environmental space, we promote climate-resilient agriculture, water conservation, and agroforestry to enhance biodiversity and combat soil erosion. Our empowerment initiatives focus on women, youth, and marginalised communities through financial literacy, micro-enterprise development, FPO formation, and vocational training. In education, we bridge learning gaps for rural children and empower adults through functional and digital literacy programmes. And our health and nutrition interventions address menstrual hygiene, disease prevention, malnutrition, and healthcare access, through community-embedded programmes that link people to government schemes and deliver sustained behaviour change.

Across all four pillars, MSF partners with communities, CSR funders, government bodies, and development agencies to ensure growth that is genuinely inclusive and self-sustaining.

Environment

Mahashakti Foundation promotes environmental sustainability through climate-resilient agriculture, water conservation, organic farming, and ecological restoration. Our initiatives include the plantation of saplings, Alternate Wetting and Drying irrigation, while improving yields and reducing water consumption alongside integrated village development interventions promoting water conservation, soil health, and climate-resilient agriculture practices. By combining natural resource management with community participation, we are strengthening ecosystem resilience while supporting sustainable rural livelihoods.

Empowerment

We strengthen livelihoods of farmers, artisans, women, and youth through FPO promotion, micro-enterprise development, financial literacy, and vocational training. By forming 48 Farmer Producer Organisations and OFPOs, we have enabled smallholder farmers to collectively access markets, improve bargaining power, and earn additional income. Programmes like Subhalaxmi Udyogini, Shakti, Samriddhi, AdiKala, and the Central Sector Scheme have transformed thousands of rural households.

Education

Mahashakti Foundation strengthens access to quality education through school infrastructure development, digital learning, and improved educational facilities in underserved communities. Under IVDP, MSF supports better learning environments through infrastructure improvements, learning resources, and community engagement. Project Unnayan in Angul focuses on upgrading government school and Anganwadi infrastructure, creating safer and more inclusive spaces for children. Supported by HDFC Bank Parivartan, the Smart Learning initiative has introduced technology-enabled classrooms in 15 schools across Buguda and Polasara blocks of Ganjam, benefiting 540 students through more interactive and engaging learning experiences.

Health & Nutrition

Mahashakti Foundation strengthens community health through preventive healthcare, awareness, and improved access to essential health services. Under LTIMindtree’s IVDP, MSF promotes health and nutrition awareness and supports community well-being across project locations. Through Project Arogya, supported by Vedanta VGCB Port, the Foundation works to improve healthcare awareness and access among underserved communities. MSF also organises health camps under TPCODL-supported projects, bringing essential healthcare services closer to communities and encouraging timely diagnosis, preventive care, and healthier practices.

Why It Works

What Sets Our Work Apart

Community Ownership
Every programme is designed with communities, not for them. Beneficiaries are participants and leaders, not passive recipients.
Verified Field Impact
From 38% methane reduction to 3,000 women adopting safe hygiene practices, our claims are grounded in measurable, field-verified data.
Technology-Enabled Delivery
Digital literacy tools, PMS systems, and carbon market platforms are integrated into field delivery, increasing precision and scale.
Institutional Credibility
NSE Social Stock Exchange listed. Great Place to Work certified. GuideStar India Bronze+. Two national CSR & ESG awards in 2025–26.
How We Work

Our Operational Approach

01
Community Mobilisation First
Every programme begins with deep community engagement, forming SHGs, producer groups, or village committees that give communities a formal stake in the intervention and its outcomes.
02
Capacity Building at Every Level
From individual farmers and artisans to FPO boards and village health committees, MSF systematically builds the skills, knowledge, and confidence required for self-reliance.
03
Government Scheme Convergence
Rather than substituting government services, MSF works to ensure communities can access what they are entitled to, linking households to schemes from NABARD, SUDA, Khusi, and others.
04
Market & Value Chain Integration
Livelihood gains are only sustainable when they connect to markets. MSF facilitates FPO-level market linkages, CSR-backed value chains, and direct institutional procurement for producers.
05
Monitoring, Documentation & Learning
Rigorous MIS, field photography documentation protocols, and third-party impact assessments ensure every programme is accountable and continuously improving.
06
Cross-Pillar Integration
A farmer in an FPO is also a beneficiary of watershed management. A woman in a literacy centre also accesses health scheme convergence. The pillars reinforce each other by design.
3L+
Households Reached Across all four thematic pillars in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Himachal Pradesh.
30+
